All about Google Analytics!!!

Google Analytic's!! I had a vague idea about what Google Analytic's (GA) is and upon discovering what GA actually is, I've realized how vague my idea actually was. When I started my blog I added the GA Tracking code into the "Settings" department of my blog and now I'm seeing GA in motion :)

Here is an overview of the statistics of my blog, I am able to see statistics of what web browser people use to enter my blog and the traffic sources they use as well.

However reading up on Google Analytics articles on the Econsultancy websites I found out more

detailed information on how I can analyse the statistics of the web viewers who view my blog. I read this interesting article called "10 useful custom Google Analytics reports and dashboards for publishers". The article provided interesting ways on how you can build customized reports to find a whole lot more statistics about who views your page, where are they coming from, how many people on a specific hour view your page, what key words brought them to your page and etc.

Because of the fact my blog is rather lonely and quite unpopular at the moment I decided to build just a simple report on when people are viewing my content (I hardly have any *special* keywords that excite people to view my blog at the moment... but that will soon change!) Anyways here is the report I conducted below.

The steps were quite simple to conduct this report. All I had to do was log into my Google Analytics account and go to customization reports and create an Hours and Days Report.
This report I created shows the day and hour and how many views I received on my blog. As you can see the page visits are quite dismal *sad face*. I'm averaging 1 page visit and few pageviews

I also got to look at the bounce rate statistics however I wasn't quite sure what the statistics actually meant however reading an article called "What Does Bounce Rate Mean and Why is it Important".
It gave a very good example that if 100 people enter your website and 40 click through to another page, the bounce rate is 60% as 60 out of the 100 exited straight after entering. In my screen shot as you can see I have a lot of 100% bounce rate which is really not that great as it means all visitors enter and exits my site via only one page. However the website explained this is quite typical for blogs because all posts are on one page and people just click on the website to see one page.

Seeing Google Analytics was really interesting though hopefully more viewers check my page so I get to put it into more practise!
